About
OUR VISION
To see Kampala renewed by gospel of Jesus Christ.
OUR MISSION
To make mature and multiplying disciples of Jesus who impact the city.
OUR DNA:
At Cross Fellowship our aim is to be disciples and to make disciples marked by the three Ts, each T representing a key aspect of our DNA.
1. Treasured by God. Our vision is to cultivate disciples who, through a profound understanding of the gospel, authentically live out their identity as God’s treasured people. The gospel reveals that we are profoundly valued by God the Father, who demonstrated His love when we were His enemies by giving His only Son. Furthermore, He continues to work all things for our good. Our aspiration is to witness individuals living securely, rooted in the knowledge that they are dearly loved children of God.
2. Treasuruing Christ supremely. We aspire to be a community that treasures Christ above all else. Recognizing Christ as the greatest treasure, our goal is to witness individuals knowing and loving Him more than self, money, fame, or any other pursuit. Our vision is to foster disciples who live distinctly different lives from the prevailing culture because their allegiance to Christ surpasses all other priorities.
3. Transforming people by the Spirit.
We aim to unleash individuals who are both equipped and Spirit-filled to catalyze transformation in others through the Holy Spirit, as they bear witness to Jesus Christ in every facet of their lives. This overarching mission defines our purpose as a church, and we earnestly desire that everyone within our community is adequately prepared to live on mission with Jesus, relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Believing in God’s plan to bring about transformation through local churches, we are wholeheartedly committed to the task of raising up church planters and actively engaging in the establishment of new churches.
WHO IS A DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST?
A disciple is someone who knows Jesus as Savior and Lord, follows him, and reflects him in life.
Galatians 2:20
OUR BELIEFS:
Cross Fellowship Church is a Reformed, Baptistic congregation.
Cross Fellowship Church adheres to the revised New Hampshire Confession of Faith from 1853 as its statement of faith. All who join CFC are required to affirm this confession of Faith. This Statement of Faith affirms our commitment to historical Christianity, evangelical faith, believer’s baptism, and congregational church government.
OUR HISTORY:
Cross Fellowship Church began meeting as a small group in September 2019, following years of prayer and planning by Derrick Sekamalira, Joseph Matovu, and Caleb Nakina. United in their vision to establish a Bible-teaching, gospel-centered church along Ggaba Road—where such churches were scarce in Kampala—they set out to establish such a church by God’s grace. After about two years in the church planting journey, Caleb and Joseph left to pursue other ministries, leaving Derrick to continue shepherding this fledgling congregation. Despite navigating challenges such as a global pandemic and other obstacles, the Lord has faithfully guided and sustained Cross Fellowship Church.
